Prague: Best Eats from Around the World
Finding a diverse list of cuisines in Prague is never an issue. Nowadays, you can find anything from Brazilian, to Thai, to Italian. The problem is knowing where to go. The common mentality is that if a restaurant is downtown, it's good. Friends, do not be fooled: Prague offers fantastic food outside Old Town and the city centre, so go out and discover the endless options! Chances are the area will be more local and the prices more appealing. If you're craving a bite after a free walking tour in Prague, here's your guide to the best and cheap eats in Prague from around the world.

Mr Hot Dog

Best. Hot dog. In town. Located just a few steps from Letna Park (Prague 7), Mr Hot Dog offers a simple, yet varied menu ranging from Chicago Style, Classic, and Saurkraut dogs to burgers and chilli cheese fries (that's right!). The inside diner atmosphere is inviting and so are the staff. Try their homemade cocktails or grab a draught. No matter what, the prices will not disappoint and neither will the quality of the delicious meals. It really is the closest thing to tasting America!

50 - 200 CZK per person

Hanabi Sushi House

Dining on seafood in Czech can be a problem for a few reasons. The main one is geographical. When you go to a country that is far from any sea or ocean, getting fresh seafood becomes difficult, but certainly not impossible. Fear not, seafood lovers - Hanabi has got your back! Though sushi is considered a luxury food in Prague, this restaurant offers affordable prices and a fantastic Japanese cuisine experience. The concept is fusion, so you can try their amazing Korean kimchi salad and munch on some sashimi while you're at it. If you don't feel like raw food, they have a grill menu and a hot plate for meat and vegetables at the table as well. Get grilling and make a night out of it!

Modry Zub

This place is awesome for their Thai food. Modry Zub's got a lot of choice on the menu including vegetarian-friendly options, By never compromising taste with their wide variety of dishes, this restaurant does Thai cuisine right! Pop by when you have a big appetite, because the portions are huge and the ingredients always taste fresh. There are three convenient locations near Andel, Narodni Trida and Mustek metro stations!

Recommended: a classic, their Pad Thai is probably the best in Prague!

100 - 200 CZK per person

El Barrio de Angel

Everyone knows that Argentinian steaks are the best in the whole world. Luckily, you have a place to try them in Prague! This restaurant/delicatessen offers Spanish, Argentinian, Venezuelan, Peruvian, and Bolivian specialties. The wine selection is fantastic and so is their food menu. My recommendation would be to come here for lunch since you can enjoy their specialties for a fraction of the cost! But don't worry, dinner hours will only put you back 300 - 600 CZK, still a great deal for a nice cut of meat! If you're a meat person and you enjoy a good dose of protein, this is the place to try. Your tastebuds will thank you. As a bonus, the restaurant also has a delicatessen on the first floor with Spanish jamon and fresh baked breads. El Barrio is conveniently located in Prague 5, Andel.

Regular price 300 - 600 CZK per person

Lunch Menu 120 - 200 CZK

If you ever have a craving for a good cup of coffee and some homemade gelato in Prague- this is the place to go. With spacious indoor and outdoor areas, Amato has something for everyone. The establishment is non-smoking (yay!) and has a selection that will curb any sweet tooth, from homemade gelato, to cakes and sweets, Amato is a great deal, family-friendly, and located in the hip Letna region!

Recommended: pistachio or hazelnut gelato and their mega huge Merengues.

The Farm

The Farm is an urban kitchen and coffee shop in convenient and quiet Bubenec. Everything on their menu is always fresh, so get there early or make a reservation. Seats are limited (even in the garden!) and go fast. Whether you just want to grab a coffee, a drink or have a meal - you will not be disappointed. Their menu is limited, but you can be sure the food will be at its freshest. Vegan choices are available and a non-smoking environment makes this a very popular place indeed. Remember, evenings are bustling, so make a reservation!

Recommended: Try their burger, it's a simple recipe but it's the juiciest in Prague!

50 - 170 CZK per person

Additional tips:

If you love food and want to experience all that Prague has to offer, check out the places you like and make a reservation!

Tipping policy: If the bill explicitly doesn't say service is included, the customary tip is 10-15%.

With loads of variety, Prague is emerging on the food scene with every cuisine possible. Don't forget, go out and explore the city, work up an appetite - because some of the best eats in Prague are in the more local neighbourhoods! There's something here for everyone! Bon Appetit!
